Upland Bathroom Remodel
These new homeowners got much more than what they bargained for after moving into this Upland home! Before they moved in, there was a massive flood throughout the home causing water damage throughout. These handy homeowners were able to do most of the work themselves, but called us in to do their complete bathroom remodel! Built in 1960, this bathroom’s previous layout was closed off and all together awkward. To fix this problem, we teamed up with the homeowner and came up with a layout that would increase the usable space in the bathroom and update the overall look. To start out we gutted the bathroom, removing the shower, built in cabinets and vanity. We increased the area of the bathroom by taking from the walk in closet running parallel to the bathroom (per the homeowners request, of course!), and configured the plumbing to better suit the space. Next, we built a walk in shower, complete with a niche and pony wall, and created their custom vanity. These homeowners love the retro look, so we went with a beveled subway tile for the walls, and Carrara marble honeycomb mosaic layout for the floors. We added a Carrara pencil liner in the shower to play off the floor, as well as a chrome liner to give the shower a clean, sleek finish. To increase the functionality of the shower, we added a small bench. We also continued the beveled subway tile to the vanity backsplash and around the ponywall, and capped them both with the continuous Carrara pencil liner to tie this space together. Both the custom vanity and shower bench were finished off with poured cement tops, which gave this space a truly unique and creative feel! The vessel sink, three paneled mirror and classic vanity light completed this fun, retro bathroom! It was great working with such creative and open homeowners, and we absolutely love how this space turned out!
