Making Space

This custom bathroom renovation transformed a dated space into a sleek, functional retreat by maximizing storage, optimizing layout, and incorporating modern design elements.

Custom Bathroom Renovation: Maximizing Space and Style

Before its transformation, this bathroom was a typical setup featuring an acrylic tub-shower combo and a cultured marble vanity countertop. There were several inefficiencies in the layout, such as a short wall where the vanity ended and wasted space caused by the internal door swing.

To better suit our client’s style and needs, we started by replacing the old tub-shower combination with a custom walk-in shower. To create a sleek and modern aesthetic, we used large-format tiles on the shower walls, while 1×1 tiles on the floor add visual interest and texture. We also included an oversized shower niche for toiletries and a foot niche to make shaving easier and more convenient.

Our clients requested a hinged shower door, which led us to replace the internal swing door with a pocket door. This change not only enhanced the bathroom’s functionality but also maximized usable space.

On the opposite side of the walk-in shower, we designed a custom vanity with flat-panel doors and a clean, simple quartz countertop, reflecting a modern and minimalist style. We also reduced the size of the awkward corner wall, allowing us to incorporate an additional custom shelf for extra storage.

Finally, we adjusted the framing to accommodate a spacious medicine cabinet, providing much-needed storage for this hall bathroom and making the space both practical and stylish.
